Freqport’s Journey to Clarity and Agility

Freqport, co-founded by Aran Gallagher and Mikael Dahlgaard, is on a mission to revolutionize workflows for digital and analog music producers. Participating in the Soundtech Accelerator, marked a significant turning point for the company. With a focus on validation, agile processes, and tailored support, Freqport refined their strategy and laid a foundation for sustainable growth.

Clarity Through Guided Discovery

Before joining the accelerator, Freqport’s co-founders knew they had a great product but lacked a structured way to refine their approach. Validates methodology provided that clarity.

Aran reflected, “Rather than lead us by the leash, the discovery process was nurtured, allowing us to figure out what we needed to know.” This empowered the team to own their learning journey while receiving expert guidance to stay on track.

For Mikael, who had decades of experience in the music industry, concepts like beachheads and value propositions were eye-opening. He shared, “The program was a big eye-opener. I’d never worked with these concepts, and it’s been extremely valuable.”

The Power of Validation

One of the accelerator’s defining features was its validation sprints. These structured exercises pushed Freqport to gather real-world data and challenge assumptions.

Mikael highlighted the impact: “The validation sprints were a complete eye-opener, helping us fine-tune our product and discover unexpected insights, like higher price points.” This data-driven approach not only informed product development but also strengthened their understanding of market needs.

Agile Processes: A Lasting Legacy

The introduction to agile methodologies was another transformative aspect of the program. Freqport quickly embraced these processes, incorporating sprints into various parts of their business.

“We’ve now formalized the sprint process in our company, applying it to marketing, sales, and even support teams,” Aran explained. For Mikael, new to agile practices, the change was profound: “I completely fell in love with the methodology. It has enhanced how I collaborate with our team and streamlined our workflow.”

Personalized Support and Peer Learning

Freqport benefited from a blend of one-on-one coaching and peer-to-peer sessions. While the early stages of the program relied on group discussions to share experiences and mirror challenges, personalized sessions later on were key to addressing their specific needs.

Aran described the balance: “The one-on-one sessions were the most valuable, but the peer-to-peer group work was also important for comparing progress and learning from others.”

The Validate Difference

For Freqport, working with Validate wasn’t just about gaining technical skills—it was also about building trust and confidence.

“Anders is a great person to work with—technically skilled and someone you like and trust,” Aran noted. This combination of expertise and personal connection created a supportive environment that encouraged growth and innovation.

A Stronger Foundation for Growth

Freqport’s experience in the Soundtech Accelerator showcases the impact of Validate’s founder-focused methodology. By emphasizing validation, agile practices, and tailored support, the program equipped them with the tools to adapt and thrive.

As Michael put it, “We wouldn’t have developed such a strong product without the validation process.”

With these lessons, Freqport is well-positioned for the next phase of its journey, proving that the right support can unlock incredible potential.
